  3. In deep bottom pan heat oil put half red chilli powder and bay leaf, once its starts getting warm, put onions and let them caramelize, avoid adding salt as it will make onion sweat and they will not turn brown..
  4. Once onion is reddish, add water add salt, remaining red chilli powder, bring water to boil. Color of the water should be like in the image below.
  5. Now add rice and cook on high flame till very little water remains.
  6. Low the flame and cover and cook till done..
